After Lucy’s son Jack died in a tragic accident, she realised the injustice of parental bereavement leave in the UK. Lucy took action to change the law, so parents could have the time to grieve for their loss without the pressure of having to return to work so soon.
With no prior campaigning experience, her efforts paid off when the Conservative Party included changes to the Parental Bereavement Leave laws, which have now passed.
